Capital Area United Way establishes Affiliate relationships with agencies who will be active partners with us in working cooperatively, achieving, measuring and publicizing results, mobilizing the community and engaging in creative and strategic planning. Affiliates have the opportunity to seek grant funding for programs that support the United Way Strategic Plan.
Affiliates meet the following broad criteria:
Designated as a 501(c)3 agency or one operating under governmental mandate
Governed by a representative volunteer board of directors
Maintain a current License to Solicit in the State of Michigan
Submit a current IRS Form 990, 990 EZ or Pro Forma 990
Have an administrative rate of 35% or lower
The Capital Area United Way Board has approved the following agencies as Affiliates for 2016.
Anishinaabegamig Cultural Center
Eaton Clothing and Furniture Center (ECFC)
Habitat for Humanity Capital Region (formerly Habitat for Humanity Lansing)
Mid-Michigan Recovery Services (formerly National Council on Alcoholism Lansing Regional Area)
