
Jim served as chief financial officer for the Capital Area United Way since 2011, responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the organization. In 2022 he was named Controller of the United Way of South Central Michigan. He is a certified public accountant and previously served as controller for a local insurance agency for 11 years and worked for 10 years at Maner Costerisan CPAs. He is an active member of the Lansing-area community and volunteers during the tax season preparing tax returns at the local VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program and assists low-income residents in preparing their annual returns to maximize refunds. Jim received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University. He resides in Haslett with his wife Jean and has two children.
